At/in/to the swimming pool (a location)

I can understand that at is a location or a point, while in is ins >to when we want to express a movement towards a location.
I wonder if there is any difference between these pairs of sentences ( Source: Elementary Total English Workbook by Mark Foley and Diane Hall, p. 18 “Correct the mistakes with the verbs. … 3. We swimming at the swimming pool. ___________________ “

1.We swim at the swimming pool.
2.We go swimming at the swimming pool.

The sentences above are correct. I wonder what would happen if I replaced the preposition at with the preposition in .

3.We swim in the swimming pool.
4.We go swimming in the swimming pool.

Would there be any significant change in meaning? Could it mean that one wants to stress that the activity takes place ins >at can only mean inside the pool in this case anyway. Am I right?

I think that one could also say:
5.We usually go swimming to the swimming pool and sometimes to the canal. And then the movement toward the location is stressed rather than just the location itself. Am I right?

I also wonder if there is any difference between:
6. We are swimming at the swimming pool?
7. We are swimming in the swimming pool?
I think that when one is doing the activity one has to use the preposition in rather than the general at . Am I right?

Are sentences 1,2,3,4 basically interchangeable?
Is sentence 5 OK?
Are sentences 6 and 7 basically interchangeable?

10 things to take to your first adult swimming lesson

You are in the zone and ready to go, but what things do you take to your first swimming lesson? A swimsuit and towel may both be obvious essentials, but here are a few suggestions of other things to take to your first adult swimming lesson to help ensure you have the best possible experience at the pool.

Things to take to your first adult swimming lesson

  1. Swimwear. This may be a swimming costume, trunks, shorts, t-shirt and/or leggings. Check with your pool to see if there are any guidelines on what swimwear is permitted. It is advisable when learning to swim to make sure swimwear is as close fitting as possible.
  2. Towel and robe. A towel is essential for drying off after your swim, but if you are nervous about walking around the poolside in your swimwear, it is a good idea to bring a towelling robe to cover up and keep warm.
  3. Swimming cap. Swimming caps are particularly useful for those with longer hair, as they not only keep the hair out of the face, but also will reduce ‘drag’ so make swimming that bit easier.
  4. Goggles. Although not essential, wearing swimming goggles is highly recommended by swimming teachers for adult learners. It is one of the things to take to your first adult swimming lesson that will help encourage better technique, as well as protecting your eyes from chlorinated water.
  5. Toiletries. The chlorine and other chemicals used in the swimming pool can leave skin and hair a bit dry, so make sure you remember your shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, moisturiser and any other toiletries you may need.
  6. Hairbrush. For those with longer hair, bringing hair clips or hair bands is an idea if you are planning to swim without a cap, and don’t forget a hair brush for glamming-up post-swim too.
  7. Flip flops or poolside shoes. You may not consider it one of the things to take to your first adult swimming lesson but if you don’t fancy going barefoot, or have concerns about slipping on poolside, pack some flip flops for your walk from the changing rooms to the pool.
  8. Locker coins. Some pools allow you to bring your bag on to the poolside, but at others there are lockers which usually require coins. There’s nothing more frustrating than getting to the locker to find out you need a one pound coin or a token, and having to shuffle back to the reception for change. Probably worth calling ahead first to ask the receptionist what you need for the lockers.
  9. Water bottle. Learning to swim is a form of exercise. When you swim it’s important to keep hydrated. In a pool you won’t notice how much you sweat and therefore how much water you lose. Remember to bring a water bottle, keep it on the side of the pool and take regular sips throughout the lesson.
  10. Snack for after the lesson. Pack a small snack such as a banana for straight after your swim. This will help to replace energy burnt during the lesson, while reducing the risk of raiding the vending machines post-swim

24. Baby Triplets. At the swimming pool

Andres Remy Architects designed this private residence for a couple with two children in Devoto, Argentina. The home, situated on an 18 x 24 meter lot, is a modern, luxurious home with an open floor plan, most of which has angles which allow one to view the unusual above ground pool.

While the entire home is nicely designed, it’s the pool that I was really drawn to. With it’s see-through window, flush wooden deck and split level interior.

The pool reminds me of one of my other favorite swimming pools (I have many). That within the Brazil Slice House by Procter-Rihl, shown below:
